17° Festival Internazionale del Circo“Città di Latina” Latina, 15 – 19 Ottobre 2015 www.festivalcircolatina.com Comunicato stampa n° 1 – Lunedì, 18 Maggio 2015 Il “Festival Internazionale del Circo – Città di Latina” riempie le pagine della stampa specializzata internazionale.
Il mondo del Circo è in attesa delle prime indiscrezioni sull’edizione n°17 del Festival di Latina prevista per il prossimo Ottobre. Mentre la Produzione mantiene uno stretto riserbo, è ancora vivo sulle riviste di settore il fragore delle standing ovation che il pubblico ha tributato agli artisti in gara lo scorso anno: una sorta di eco, netta e decisa, a suggello di un consenso che appare unanime. “Il potere del Festival di Latina”: così titola la rivista spagnola “Zirkolika” diretta da Vicente Llorca nel numero 43; il testo di Dario Duranti e le fotografie di Christophe Roullin raccontano di un’edizione che “a fronte di un duro impegno organizzativo ha conseguito risultati resi concreti dalle ovazioni del pubblico e dei giurati”. Degna di nota l’entusiastica chiusura di Duranti che parla di quel “miracolo italiano chiamato Festival di Latina apprezzato e riconosciuto in tutto il mondo”. Reca la doppia firma di Alain Neuville e François Rozès l’articolo pubblicato sul n°255 della rivista francese “Le Cirque dans l’Univers” diretta da Christian Hamel. Il testo riferisce di una manifestazione che “non sarebbe la stessa se non prevedesse la celebrazione degli animali nello spettacolo circense”. Il riferimento va al sorprendente numero di leoni marini presentato da Vasily Timchenko giunto a Latina dalla Russia in rappresentanza del Rosgoscirk. Il Festival di Latina è descritto come opportunità offerta al mondo del Circo per mostrarsi nel suo dinamismo e nella sua capacità creativa. Dirk Kuik sulla pagine del n°4/2014 della rivista tedesca “Planet Circus”, partner ufficiale dell’E.C.A. – European Circus Association, riferisce di un Festival che ha stupito per l’inusuale e sorprendente partecipazione alla competizione della Troupe Galkynysh con i cavalli della scuderia del Presidente del Turkmenistan giunti fino a Roma con un volo speciale. Kuik mette in luce anche come il Comitato di Selezione abbia assegnato maggiore spazio agli artisti italiani tra i quali Christopher Togni, Yasmin Dell’Acqua, i Clown musicali Sterza, Eonys, Lord Nil e Maria Josee Farina. L’articolo chiude denotando Latina quale “uno fra i luoghi più importanti per il mondo del Circo”. Il numero di Novembre 2014 della rivista italiana “Circo”, organo di stampa dell’Ente Nazionale Circhi, dedica al Festival di Latina sei pagine a firma di Piero Messana impreziosite dalle fotografie di Christophe Roullin. Il ricco articolo descrive l’edizione 2014 del Festival nelle sue componenti di spettacolo, nelle sue più trasversali implicazioni culturali legate agli eventi collaterali ed anche nella sua connotazione di prodotto made in Italy, “nel segno della capacità, tutta italiana, di mettere il Paese al centro del mondo del Circo”. Non a caso il pezzo reca un elenco di grandi star nostrane che, nel corso delle varie edizioni del Festival, hanno calcato la prestigiosa pista: “Flavio Togni, Willer Nicolodi, Redy e Denny Montico, Davis Vassallo, Vinicio Canestrelli Togni, Stefano Nones Orfei, soltanto per citarne qualcuno”. Le pagine del n°65 della rivista italiana “Juggling” diretta da Adolfo Rossomando, dedicano una speciale attenzione a tutti gli eventi tesi allo sviluppo culturale del Festival; fra questi sono messi in evidenza il “Caffè letterario a tema circense”, “Circus Expo”, la “Messa Internazionale” ed il gemellaggio tra le città di Latina e di Tourrette-Levens siglato dai rispettivi sindaci nella Sala Consiliare del Comune di Latina. Le pagine a colori, foto di Christophe Roullin, raccontano la dimensione “sociale” della manifestazione che, anche nei suoi allestimenti, intende favorire lo scambio tra artisti, operatori ed appassionati: “un’agorà di incontro con il Circo per la cittadinanza e per i visitatori”.

Whilst the Circus world awaits the first announcements regarding the upcoming 17th Festival at Latina in October, the production office maintains the utmost discretion regarding this year’s cast. Last year’s production, which prompted standing ovations from the audiences, still echoes in the pages of the dedicated Circus press. “The power of the Festival of Latina” is the title of the review by Spanish magazine ‘Zirkolika’ (Editor Vicente Llorca), in issue 43. With a text by Dario Duranti and photographs by Christophe Roullin, the magazine says this about the Festival, “In the face of a difficult organizational task, firm results were achieved, and were confirmed by the ovations of the audiences and of the members of the Jury”. Worth noting also, the enthusiastic closing comment by Dario Duranti, which speaks of the “Italian miracle called the Festival of Latina, which is appreciated and well-known worldwide”.The article published in issue 255 of the French magazine ‘Le Cirque dans l’Univers’ (Editor Christian Hamel) was written by Alain Neuville and François Rozès. In it they said “It wouldn’t be the same if the show didn’t celebrate the presence of animals in circus productions”. This references the presence of a significant number of sea lions presented by Vasily Timchenko, who came to the Festival from Russia, representing Rosgoscirk.The Festival at Latina is described as an opportunity for the Circus world to show off its dynamism and creativity by Dirk Kuik, in issue 4/2014 of the German magazine ‘Planet Circus’, which is also an official partner of E.C.A (European Circus Association). He talks about a Festival that astonished the public with the unusual and breathtaking participation in the competition of the Troupe Galkynysh, with splendid horses from the personal stables of the President of Turkmenistan, which were brought to Rome via a specially chartered flight. Kuik also mentions the fact that the selection committee chose to include more Italian performers in this edition, amongst whom Christopher Togni, Yasmin Dell’Acqua, The Sterza Musical Clowns, Eonys, Lord Nil and Maria Josée Farina. The article concludes by saying that Latina is “one of the Circus world’s most important places”.The November 2014 issue of the Italian magazine ‘Circo’, which is the official publication of the National Circus Association, dedicates six pages to the festival, written by Piero Messana and illustrated with photos by Christophe Roullin. This comprehensive article discusses the 2014 edition of the Festival, highlighting not only its spectacular side, but also its cultural aspect as regards the many additional events, and also the ‘Made in Italy’ signature, denoting “the all-Italian ability to place this country at the centre of the Circus world”. The article goes on to list some of the many Italian stars that have performed at Latina in various editions of the Festival: “Flavio Togni, Willer Nicolodi, Redy and Denny Montico, Davis Vassallo, Vinicio Canestrelli Togni, and Stefano Nones Orfei, to name just a few”.The Italian magazine ‘Juggling’ (Editor Adolfo Rossomando), in issue 65, gives special attention to the additional events that go towards the cultural development of the Festival, mentioning the ‘Circus-themed Literary Cafè’, ‘Circus Expo’, the ‘International Religious Service’, and the twinning of Latina with the French town of Tourrette-Levens, which took place at a ceremony in the presence of the Mayors of both cities, held in the Council Office at Latina’s Town Hall.
