TRE "STANDING OVATION" AL DEBUTTO DEL FESTIVAL

Successo ogni più rosea previsione. Pubblico in delirio alla "doppia prima" del "Festival Internazionale del Circo - Città di Latina”.

Quasi quattro ore di grande Circo per ciascuno dei due differenti spettacoli di selezione andati in pista Giovedì 16 e Venerdì 17 Ottobre a Latina. 25 attrazioni superlative, presentate con ritmo incalzante, per un "debutto" suggellato da una tripla "standing ovation". Ad accendere l'entusiasmo del pubblico dello Chapiteau di Latina l'eccellente performance del giovane russo Vasily Timchenko che, in rappresentanza del Circo di Stato russo "Rosgoscirk ", ha portato in pista i suoi splendidi leoni marini: "il più bel numero di leoni marini mai visto al mondo", queste le parole che, soprattutto fra gli addetti ai lavori, hanno risuonato in più lingue all'uscita dagli spettacoli. Sorprendente, poi, il numero di "testa a testa" allestito dalla grande Zhejiang Troupe proveniente dalla Repubblica Popolare Cinese. Le evoluzioni degli artisti cinesi sono parse al limite del credibile. Di particolare pregio costumi, trucco e coreografie nel rispetto dell'antica tradizione cinese di Circo. Finale da capogiro, ben oltre la mezzanotte, con i "cosacchi" e la superba cavalleria del Presidente della Repubblica del Turkmenistan: una vera esplosione di energia, tradizione popolare ed altissima tecnica che hanno contaminato tutto il pubblico presente. Tra loro tanti turkmeni con abiti tipici e bandiere. Degno di nota il finale della loro esibizione con l'esposizione della doppia bandiera, italiana e turkmena, issata al vertice di una piramide umana sul dorso di due splendidi cavalli al galoppo. Ad applaudire il debutto di questa sedicesima edizione del Festival un parterre esclusivo: tra i tanti nomi illustri del mondo del Circo presenti abbiamo riconosciuto Stefano Orfei Nones e Brigitta Boccoli, Livio e Corrado Togni, il Presidente dell'Ente Nazionale Circhi, Antonio Buccioni. Da oggi, sabato 18 Ottobre, si entra nel vivo della competizione: la Giuria Tecnica Internazionale sarà operativa in occasione dei due spettacoli odierni, alle 16,30 ("show B") ed alle 21,00 ("show A"). Solo la metà degli artisti in competizione potrà accedere alla finale del 20 Ottobre.

THREE STANDING OVATIONS DURING THE FESTIVAL’S DÉBUT SHOWS

A success beyond all expectations with very appreciative and responsive audiences applauding the virtuosity and skills of the many and diverse performers and numbers in the opening shows.

Nearly four hours of great Circus for each of the two shows on October 16^th and 17^th at Latina. 25 superb acts, presented at a breathtaking pace, made for a wonderful début that included no less than three standing ovations from delighted audiences. One of the numbers that produced this wonderful show of appreciation in Latina’s Circus ring was the amazing performance by Vasily Timchenko, representing the Russian State Circus ‘Rosgoscirk’ with his four sea lions: “the best sea lion number ever seen”, was the unanimous comment heard in several languages as people, many Circus experts amongst them, exited the show. Another truly remarkable number was provided by the Zhejiang Troup from the People’s Republic of China, with incredible head balances and other Circus disciplines, with careful attention paid to costumes, make-up, and choreography, evoking the enduring traditions of the Chinese Circus. The finale, which took place well after midnight, was provided by a superb Cossack number performed by Troupe Galkynysh which included the splendid horses sent to Latina by the President of Turkmenistan via a special flight: an explosion of energy, tradition, and incredibly polished technique that brought the crowd to its feet – many from Turkmenistan, wearing their national costumes and waving the flag of Turkmenistan - in a fantastic display of sheer enjoyment. At the conclusion of their number the performers waved the flags of Italy and Turkmenistan at the top of a human pyramid, in its turn on top of two beautiful horses from the troupe, as they galloped around the ring. Also noted amongst the public at these opening shows of the 16^th edition of the ‘International Circus Festival – City of Latina’ were several Circus VIPs: Stefano Orfei Nones and Brigitta Boccoli, Livio and Corrado Togni, and the President of the National Circus Association (ENC), Antonio Buccioni.

From today, Saturday, October 18^th, the competition starts in earnest, as the International Technical Jury begins it work on judging the acts in competition during today’s two shows, at 16.30 (Show B) and 21.00 (Show A). Only half of the performers competing in the Festival’s competition will perform in the final show on Monday, October 20^th.
