Svelati i primi nomi del cast stellare della “Special Anniversary Edition” del Festival di Latina.

A partire da oggi, la Produzione del “Festival Internazionale del Circo – Città di Latina” renderà pubblico poco alla volta il cast  dell’imminente 15^ edizione. Sul sito ufficiale del Festival www.festivalcircolatina.com, la sezione “Cast 2013” fornirà in anteprima immagini e biografie di tutti gli artisti.

Assai complesso il lavoro di selezione delle candidature affidato alla “Commissione esaminatrice internazionale”. Sono circa 500 le richieste di partecipazione giunte da artisti dei cinque continenti. Per ciascuno di loro viene valutata la qualità tecnica ed artistica dell’esibizione, oltre al tipo di disciplina ed alla provenienza geografica. Tra i primi artisti ammessi alla competizione figurano un fuoriclasse della giocoleria, l’ungherese Kristian Kristof, il virtuoso artista cubano Yosvani Rodriguez con il numero classico di equilibrismo sul filo, i pattinatori italiani Triberti già titolari di un Guinness e la temeraria trapezista russa Kristina Bautina.

Kristian Kristof rappresenta la quarta generazione artistica di una delle più note famiglie di Circo in Ungheria. Cresciuto fin da bambino a stretto contatto con la pista, Kristian si è laureato presso l’Istituto di Stato per le Arti e lo Spettacolo in Ungheria. La sua persona è legata dal 1984 all’immagine del “giocoliere gentleman”: nelle sue esibizioni, infatti, Kristian affianca costantemente alle sue notevoli doti tecniche una particolare attenzione alla scelta dei costumi, degli accessori e di tutto quanto concorra alla creazione di un’atmosfera di particolare suggestione. Sono numerosi i titoli artistici e professionali già appannaggio di Kristian Kristof: tra questi citiamo l’inserimento nel “Guinness Book of Records” per la performance con le tre scatole di sigari, la direzione del Festival Internazionale del Circo di Budapest (1996-2012), la direzione artistica del Circo di Stato Ungherese (2008-2011), la creazione e la direzione artistica del “Maciva Master Studio” (2008-2012).

Yosvani Rodriguez è un giovane artista cubano; egli si è formato dapprima come ginnasta (1985-1993) e subito dopo come pattinatore (1993-1996). Dal 1996 ha frequentato la Scuola di Circo di Cuba dove ha conseguito il suo diploma. Artista versatile ha già lavorato nei maggiori circhi del mondo presentando numeri quali la corda elastica, la barra russa e le cinghie aeree. Yosvani presenta al Festival di Latina un numero di “filo” che, a fronte di passaggi di rara difficoltà come il “salto mortale in avanti”, è reso particolarmente accattivante dalla coreografia che evoca i canoni cari alla cultura latino-americana.

Il Duo Triberti intraprende la propria carriera artistica nel 1985. Compagni nell’arte e nella vita, Carlo e Nancy, entrambi italiani, appartengono ad una delle famiglie storiche del Circo italiano: i Triberti. La disciplina che li ha resi noti al grande pubblico è il pattinaggio acrobatico. Sulla piccola superficie di una pedana circolare del diametro di 1,65 metri, Carlo e Nancy Triberti sono capaci di compiere pericolose evoluzioni. L’atmosfera è di particolare intensità: Nancy, nello stabilire un vincolo fisico con il suo partner, si solleva da terra ed appare librarsi. I Triberti hanno già al loro attivo importanti riconoscimenti fra i quali l’iscrizione al “Guinness World Records” nel 2010.

Kristina Bautina è nata a Mosca nel 1984. All’età di quindici anni ha iniziato a formarsi alle discipline del Circo presso il “Centro per l’Arte circense” di Mosca. La sua carriera artistica è iniziata nel 2002. Dallo scorso anno, sotto la direzione artistica di Alexander Grimailo, Kristina ha avviato la produzione della sua più recente performance al trapezio, dal titolo “Kristi Wave”: per circa sette minuti Kristina si esibisce all’altezza di 8 metri da terra senza alcun cavo di sicurezza. Lo stile “modern jazz” della coreografia si coniuga con le doti tecniche dell’artista russa dando vita ad un numero capace di creare un’atmosfera di grande pathos.

The “International Circus Festival – City of Latina” releases the first set of names of performers who will be part of the cast of this year’s “Special Anniversary Edition”.

Starting today, the production team of the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina” will be gradually releasing the names of the cast of the upcoming 15^th edition. Photos and biographical notes of these performers can be found on the page “Cast 2013” of our website at www.festivalcircolatina.com . 

The selection of artists forming the cast of this year’s edition, made by the “International Examining Committee”, is a difficult task, involving over 500 applications that have arrived from artists all over the world. Each number is studied with care, taking into consideration technical and artistic merit as well as the chosen discipline and geographical origin of the artistes. Amongst the first group of performers to be selected is the famous Hungarian juggler Kristian Kristof, Cuban tightrope performer Yosvani Rodriguez, Italian Guinness Record-holding skaters Duo Triberti, and Russian trapezist Kristina Bautina.

Kristian Kristof represents the fourth generation of one of the most noted Circus families of Hungary. Growing up in close contact with the Circus ring, he went on to gain the diploma of the Hungarian State Circus Academy. Since 1984 his performing image has been that of the “Gentleman Juggler”: in his numbers Kristian combines his notable technical skills with careful attention to detail in the costumes and accessories that create the particularly refined atmosphere of his act. Kristian Kristof has already won numerous titles and awards during his career. Amongst these are: an inclusion in the “Guinness Book of Records” for his performance with three cigar boxes; the directorship of the International Circus Festival of Budapest (1996-2012); the artistic directorship of the Hungarian State Circus (2008-2011). He was also the founder and artistic director of “Maciva Master Studio (2008-2012).

Yosvani Rodriguez is a young performer from Cuba: he initially trained as a gymnast (1985-1993) and immediately afterwards as a skater (1993-1996). In 1996 he started training at the National Circus School of Cuba, where he also gained his diploma. A versatile performer who has already worked in many of the major circuses of the world, presenting tightrope, Russian bar and aerial straps numbers, Yosvani will perform a tightrope number at the Festival, containing difficult elements such as the forwards somersault, presented with choreography of a Latin-American flavour.

Duo Triberti began their artistic careers in 1985. Partners in real life as well in their art, Carlo and Nancy, both Italian, belong to one of Italy’s traditional Circus families: the Triberti family. The discipline that has brought them public renown is acrobatic skating. Carlo and Nancy expertly execute risky spins on a small circular platform with diameter of only 1.65 metres. Nancy and Carlo create a thrilling atmosphere as she leaves the ground, seeming to fly free from her partner. The Tribertis have already achieved important recognition, including an entry in the “Guinness Book of Records”, in 2010.

Kristina Bautina was born in Moscow in 1984. She started training in Circus disciplines at the “Circus Arts Centre” in Moscow at the age of fifteen, and started her artistic career in 2002. Since last year, under the artistic direction of Alexander Grimailo, Kristina has been performing her new trapeze number, “Kristi Wave”: she works at a height of 8 metres, without a safety wire, for seven minutes. The modern jazz style of the choreography and the technical skill of the artiste work perfectly together to create an atmosphere of great pathos.
