14° Festival Internazionale del Circo“Città di Latina” Latina 18 / 22 Ottobre 2012 www.festivalcircolatina.com Comunicato stampa n° 22 – Giovedì 27 Settembre 2012 –21 giorni Si rinforza la delegazione di artisti provenienti dall’Italia.
Mancano tre settimane alla serata inaugurale di Giovedì 18 Ottobre alle ore 21.00. Il cast degli artisti in competizione è quasi completo: tra gli italiani, oltre ai già annunciati Nancy e Carlo Triberti, in gara, e Vinicio Togni, unica Guest Star dell’imminente edizione del Festival, è ufficiale la partecipazione alla competizione di altri tre artisti provenienti dal “Bel Paese”: Los Saly Brothers, Elisabetta Bizzarro e i Clown Rastelli. La ricca delegazione di ben 5 numeri “nostrani” sarà impegnata sulla ribalta internazionale del Festival per contribuire a portare sempre più in alto nel mondo il nome del Circo “made in Italy”. Annunciata oggi, inoltre, la partecipazione in gara di una coppia di clown russi, i Kolganov. Fratelli nella vita ed affiatati compagni di lavoro in pista, Los Saly Brothers presentano un numero di “bolas”. Le bolas (dallo spagnolo bola, palla), sono lacci di cuoio alle cui estremità è legata una palla da un lato ed una maniglia dall’altro. Storicamente le bolas nascono come armi e strumenti di caccia usate come una specie di lazo. Los Saly Brothers, provenienti dall’Italia, reinterpretano i canoni del folclore argentino: come veri “gauchos” realizzano coreografie spettacolari facendo ruotare le bolas ad alta velocità al ritmo dei loro tamburi. 
Il numero di grandi felini è un classico del Circo tradizionale. Sebbene si tratti di una specialità spesso rappresentata nelle piste di tutto il mondo, assai rara è la presenza “in gabbia”, come addestratrice, di una donna. Elisabetta Bizzarro, italiana e membro di una delle famiglie storiche del Circo italiano, presenta un elegante numero con quattro leoni. Il numero contenuto dei felini coinvolti corrisponde ad una precisa scelta di Elisabetta che preferisce stabilire un rapporto più personale ed intenso con ciascuno dei suoi compagni di lavoro. Il feeling che ne risulta consegue all’impiego esclusivo delle tecniche di addestramento “in dolcezza”. Se un Circo dovesse rinunciare ad uno dei suoi artisti, di chi assolutamente non potrebbe fare a meno? Dei Clown! Ebbene, così come un Circo, anche un Festival internazionale ha bisogno di regalare sorrisi e divertimento soprattutto al suo pubblico più bello: i bambini. I Clown Rastelli, provenienti dall’Italia, irrompono a sorpresa in tutti gli spettacoli del Festival. Buonumore, spensieratezza ed ironia sono gli ingredienti delle lore riprese comiche. Una sola regola per il pubblico: proibito ridere sottovoce! 
Come ogni anno, all’interno della ricca kermesse del Festival, immancabile è la presenza dei clown che, insieme ad acrobati e giocolieri, occupano da sempre un posto di rilievo nelle piste circensi di tutto il mondo. I Clown Kolganov, provenienti dalla Russia, assicurano risate a crepapelle a tutti i bambini presenti nel magico chapiteau. I due clown, hanno portato dalla Russia valigie piene di allegria, comicità e divertimento. E se anche qualche adulto vorrà sentirsi bambino… non esiti a divertirsi!

With less than three weeks to go until the opening night of the Festival at 9pm on Thursday, October 18th, the cast of competing performers is almost complete. Amongst the Italians already announced – Nancy and Carlo Triberti, competing, and Vinicio Togni, the only guest star at this edition of the Festival – we can now announce the participation of three more Italian numbers: Los Saly Brothers, Elisabetta Bizzarro, and the Rastelli Clowns. This significant group of 5 Italian acts will be representing their country on an international level at the Festival, helping to contribute to the worldwide prestige of the Circus “made in Italy”. Also announced today, the participation in the competition of a pair of Russian clowns, The Kolganovs. Real-life brothers and working partners in the ring, Los Saly Brothers present a “bolas” number. The bolas, from the Spanish words bola, or ball, are long leather thongs with balls attached to one end and a handle attached to the other. Historically, bolas were used for hunting and as weapons, being thrown as a sort of unattached lasso. Los Saly Brothers, who are Italian, reinterpret Argentinian folklore as “gauchos” with spectacular choreography as they whirl the bolas at high speed to the rhythm of their drums. Numbers with big cats are a staple of the traditional Circus. Although this type of number is represented in circuses all over the world, it’s very rare that the trainer and performer in the ‘cage’ is a woman. Elizabetta Bizzarro, Italian and a member of one of Italy’s most renowned Circus families, presents an elegant number with four lions. The number of lions in this number is a deliberate choice of the performer, who likes to establish a more personal and intense rapport with each of her working companions. The resulting feel of the number comes from the exclusive use of the technique of “positive reinforcement” during all phases of training. No Circus would be complete without the presence of clowns and, like any ordinary Circus, even an International Circus Festival needs the humour and laughs that only a good supply of clowns can supply! The Rastelli Clowns, from Italy, will be popping up in all of our shows, bringing joy and laughter to the whole audience but especially to a very special part of our audience: the children. So sit back and enjoy a few moments of carefree hilarity and remember: laugh like nobody is watching! Just like every year, the presence of clowns within the rich tapestry of the Festival is a must, and along with the acrobats and jugglers they occupy a special place in Circus rings around the world.
