14° Festival Internazionale del Circo“Città di Latina” Latina 18 / 22 Ottobre 2012 www.festivalcircolatina.com Comunicato stampa n° 17 – Lunedì 30 Luglio 2012 Quattro nuovi numeri da quattro continenti diversi.
La Produzione del “Festival Internazionale del Circo – Città di Latina” scioglie la riserva su altri quattro numeri ammessi alla competizione. Confermata la speciale connotazione multiculturale dell’evento: la piccola rappresentativa del “cast 2012” che oggi viene resa pubblica è costituita da artisti provenienti da Europa, America, Africa ed Asia. Nel mondo del Circo internazionale è grande l’attesa per conoscere il cast della quattordicesima edizione del “Festival Internazionale del Circo – Città di Latina”. La produzione del Festival conferma la consuetudine di rivelare periodicamente gli esiti dei lavori di selezione degli artisti ammessi alla prossima edizione. Ai quattro numeri di origine americana già annunciati (il “contorsionismo” di Sasha, il “trapezio di coppia” del Daring Jones Duo, il numero di “hula-hoop” di Alesya Gulevich ed il “mano a mano” del Duo MainTenanT) se ne aggiungono oggi altri quattro, ciascuno da un continente diverso. Europa: Roman Konanchuk è un artista proveniente dall’Ucraina. Roman ha alle spalle una robusta preparazione sportiva: fin da bambino ha praticato la ginnastica artistica. Solo all’età di diciotto anni ha iniziato la propria carriera nel mondo del Circo portando in pista performance diverse ma accomunate dalle notevoli implicazioni atletiche. Roman Konanchuk presenta un originale numero aereo alla catena: supporto al quale ancorarsi ma, al tempo stesso, trampolino dal quale lanciarsi. America: Juanitula è il nome artistico del giovane argentino Juan Ignacio Tula. Nato a Buenos Aires nel 1988, Juan si è formato alle arti del Circo e della Danza nel suo Paese d’origine. Dal 2010 è in Italia dove, presso la “Scuola di CirKo Vertigo” di Grugliasco (Torino), ha conosciuto ed intrapreso una disciplina per lui nuova: la ruota Cyr, o ruota canadese, ideata dal Nord-americano Daniel Cyr. Le evoluzioni dell’acrobata all’interno del suo grande anello sembrano riproporre l’Uomo Vitruviano di Leonardo Da Vinci in una condizione dinamica ed inattesa. 
Africa: Gli Addis Brothers sono due artisti provenienti dalla Repubblica Federale Democratica d'Etiopia. Tariku e Yonas, rispettivamente 24 e 15 anni, sono nati ad Addis Abeba, capitale dello Stato dell’Africa orientale che può vantare un’identità plurimillenaria tanto da poter essere considerata il più antico Stato africano. Formatisi alla Cyca Circus School, gli Addis Brothers hanno intrapreso la loro carriera artistica nel 2005. Presentano un numero di giochi icariani, la disciplina dell’acrobatica circense nella quale gli uomini volteggiano sospinti dalle gambe di un compagno. I costumi, le musiche e l’energia degli Addis Brothers evocano lo speciale fascino delle atmosfere africane. 
Asia: Benny Cho, è un artista proveniente da Taiwan. Dopo aver completato gli studi superiori nelle discipline della Scienze motorie, Benny Cho ha scelto il diablo come disciplina ideale per presentare e diffondere la tradizione artistica e culturale del suo Paese d’origine. In qualità di “Ambasciatore dell’Arte e della Cultura” di Taiwan, Benny Cho ha già partecipato a numerosi tour mondiali. Con il suo diablo Benny partecipa anche alle convention della missione giovanile buddista. In ambito internazionale Benny Cho ha già conseguito importanti piazzamenti nelle competizioni più prestigiose.

The production team of the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina” is pleased to release the names of the next four numbers to be accepted to the competition, confirming the multicultural nature of the event: the 2012 cast members being presented today come from Europe, America, Africa and Asia. The international Circus world is keen to find out the names of the cast of the fourteenth edition of the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina”. The production team of the Festival maintains its custom of releasing a few names of its chosen performers at a time. Following the four numbers from the USA already announced (Sasha with her contortionism, Daring Jones on the duo trapeze, Alesya Gulevich with her hula-hoop number and Duo MainTenanT in their hand to hand number) four more can be added to the list today, each from a different continent. Europe: Roman Konanchuk is a performer from the Ukraine with a strong sporting background: he trained in artistic gymnastics from a very young age. He only started his Circus career when he was 18, performing in various numbers, all with a strong athletic leaning. Roman Konanchuk presents an unusual aerial number with a chain: a strong support on which to anchor his performance but which also allows him to use it as a firm base from which to throw himself whilst executing spins and somersaults. America: Juanitula is the stage name of young Argentinian performer Juan Ignacio Tula. Born in Buenos Aires in 1988, Juan trained in Circus and Dance arts in his country of origin. He has been in Italy since 2010, and has continued his training at the “Scuola del CirKo Vertigo” in Grugliasco (Turin), where he has learnt a discipline that is new to him: the Cyr wheel, or Canadian wheel, invented and designed by North-American Daniel Cyr. The gyrations of the acrobat within the huge wheel remind the spectator of an animated and dynamic version of Leonardo Da Vinci’s ‘Vitruvian Man’. Africa: The Addis Brothers are two performers from the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia. Tariku and Yonas, respectively 24 and 15 years old, were both born in Addis Abeba, capital city of the east-African country, which is so old that it can be reckoned to be one of Africa’s oldest States. Having trained at the Cyca Circus School, they started their performing careers in 2005. The Addis Brothers are presenting an icarian games number, a circus discipline in which Circus performers are spun and supported by the legs of another performer. The costumes, music and energy of the Addis Bross evoke the very special atmosphere of Africa. Asia: Benny Cho is a performer from Taiwan. After having completed his high school studies in physical education and sport sciences, Benny Cho chose the diablo as his preferred discipline with which to present and promote the artistic and cultural traditions of his home country. As an “Ambassador for Art and Culture” of the Republic of China, Benny Ho has already taken part in several world tours. Benny also works with his diablo in Buddhist youth mission conventions.
