XIII Festival Internazionale del Circo“Città di Latina” Latina 13 / 17 Ottobre 2011 www.festivalcircolatina.com Comunicato stampa n° 22 – Mercoledì 28 Settembre 2011 Countdown: - 15 giorni Il Festival Internazionale del Circo conferma la tradizione di assegnare uno spazio particolare ad una delle famiglie più rappresentative del Circo italiano.
In occasione della tredicesima edizione del Festival Internazionale del Circo “Città di Latina”, gli onori della pista sono riservati alla storica famiglia Vassallo. Rony Vassallo, figlio del più noto Edoardo, già affermato trapezista negli anni ’70, rappresenta la quarta generazione artistica della sua famiglia. Nonostante fin dalla più tenera età Rony mostrasse un particolare amore per gli animali, ed in particolare per i cavalli, egli desiderava fortemente diventare un trapezista. All’età di otto anni Rony potè debuttare in pista come verticalista per poi approdare, quattro anni più tardi, alla sua prima esibizione con un numero di animali esotici ed infine, all’età di sedici anni, alla sua prima esibizione con un numero di cavalli. 
Di fatto si andava formando un artista versatile ed eclettico, come spesso accade per i bambini più talentuosi e che hanno l’opportunità di crescere nei circhi di famiglia. Rony ama definirsi “istruttore” dei propri cavalli più che loro addestratore, quasi a voler assegnare anche nei termini, a sé ed ai suoi animali, una relazione paritaria. Rony Vassallo oggi sente di dover ringraziare suo zio, Salvatore Vassallo, per avergli comunicato l’amore per i cavalli e trasmesso l’arte del loro addestramento con dolcezza. Il numero in pista a Latina, fuori concorso come si conviene in questi casi, vede esibirsi Rony Vassallo con i suoi sette stalloni arabi dal mantello bianco, in una cornice impreziosita da costumi, musiche e danze che evocano atmosfere gitane. In pista con Rony anche sei ballerine del prestigioso Circo di Stato Bolshoi di Mosca.

On the occasion of our thirteenth edition, the place of honour goes to the Vassallo family. 
Rony Vassallo, son of the famous Edoardo Vassallo, who was a well-known trapeze artist of the ‘70s, represents the fourth generation of artists of the family. Even though he was showed a great love of animals from a tender age, and in particular for horses, Rony also had a strong desire to become a trapeze artist. He made his début in the ring performing a hand balance number, and four years later performed with exotic animals for the first time. His first performance in a number involving horses was at the age of 16. As so often happens with talented children born and bred in circus families, he was already becoming a versatile and eclectic performer. Today Rony Vassallo prefers to refer to himself as a “teacher” of his horses rather than as a trainer, almost conferring a status of equality between himself and his horses. The number he is presenting at Latina, which is not in the competition in line with our tradition for this type of number, sees Rony Vassallo with his seven white Arab stallions in a setting that evokes a gypsy atmosphere by its use of costumes, music and dancing. Rony Vassallo feels she should thank his uncle, Salvatore Vassallo, for passing on to him his love of horses and also for having taught him the art of teaching them with kindness. Six dancers coming from the Bolshoi Circus of Moscow will be working with Rony in the ring. da Ufficio Stampa |
