XIII Festival Internazionale del Circo“Città di Latina” Latina 13 / 17 Ottobre 2011 www.festivalcircolatina.com Comunicato stampa n° 13 – Mercoledì 6 Luglio 2011 Salgono oggi a 13 i numeri ufficialmente ammessi al Festival Internazionale del Circo Ufficializzata la partecipazione degli Stati Uniti d’America e del Vietnam alla tredicesima edizione del Festival Internazionale del Circo “Città di Latina”
Inseriti oggi nel cast del Festival due numeri provenienti dall’America del Nord e dal Sud-Est Asiatico: la kermesse circense va connotandosi sempre più come un’occasione preziosissima per l’incontro tra differenti culture e diverse modalità dell’espressione artistica circense. Il Duo Rose è il sodalizio artistico tra gli statunitensi Sylvia Rose, ventenne, e Samuel Jonathan, ventiduenne. Dopo un solido percorso formativo che ha visto Sylvia e Samuel specializzarsi separatamente sia nella ginnastica che nelle discipline del Circo, i due giovani artisti hanno preso a lavorare insieme tre anni fa allo scopo di condividere i rispettivi background e creare un numero di “trapezio” di particolare impatto. Il risultato è “Rose petals”, una danza aerea nella quale l’eleganza dei costumi e la grazia delle evoluzioni sono perfettamente combinate con l’elevata difficoltà di un’esibizione intrisa di passione. I Giang Quoc Brothers sono due fratelli vietnamiti di 22 e di 26 anni di età. Dopo aver studiato presso la Scuola di Circo di Ho Chi Minh, antica Saigon nonché loro città natale, i fratelli Giang Quoc Brothers hanno intrapreso e condotto la loro carriera artistica in Vietnam. Al Festival di Latina presentano un numero di “mano a mano”, la disciplina che, fra le arti circensi, meglio rappresenta l’acrobatica di coppia e che si caratterizza per la contaminazione tra forza fisica, eleganza ed armonia. Una peculiarità della performance del duo vietnamita è la loro capacità di esibirsi l’uno sull’altro opponendosi “testa a testa”.

The International Circus Festival adds two more acts today, reaching a total of 13 officially confirmed numbers The participation of the United States of America and also that of Vietnam at the thirteenth edition of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” has been confirmedToday two numbers, coming respectively from North America and South-East Asia, join the cast of the Festival: this Circus event confirms its importance as an occasion that provides valuable opportunities for encounters between different cultures and different expressions of circus performance. The Duo Rose is an artistic partnership between twenty-year-old Sylvia Rose and twenty-two-year-old Samuel Johnson. Following separate paths that saw both Sylvia and Samuel train in gymnastics and circus disciplines, the two young performers started to work together three years ago, sharing their respective backgrounds to create a striking and spectacular “trapeze” number. The result is “Rose Petals”, an aerial dance in which the elegance of the costumes and the graceful movements of the artists merge seamlessly with the intrinsic technical difficulty of this very expressive performance. The Giang Quoc Brothers are two Vietnamese siblings of 22 and 26 years of age. After studying circus arts in their home city of Saigon, at the Ho Chi Minh Circus School, the Giang Quoc brothers pursued their artistic careers in Vietnam. At the Festival of Latina they present a “hand to hand” number. This circus discipline, among all the circus disciplines, demonstrates acrobatics in pairs, and is characterized by physical strength, elegance and coordination.
