A 15 giorni dall’apertura della sua XII edizione, il Festival Internazionale del Circo “Città di Latina” inserisce in scaletta due ulteriori numeri provenienti, per la prima volta nella storia del Festival, della Corea del Nord. Mai prima d’ora la connotazione multi-culturale del Festival era stata così marcata. I cinque continenti saranno tutti rappresentati in una rassegna che si annuncia senza precedenti per la qualità delle esibizioni e per la varietà degli eventi collaterali. La Pyongyang Troupe, proveniente dalla Corea del Nord, presenta al Festival di Latina due numeri di altissimo profilo: il primo numero combina l’altalena russa con il “sostenuto aereo”. I 10 artisti tengono gli spettatori con il fiato sospeso e lo sguardo rivolto verso la sommità dello chapiteau: la performance è caratterizzata da evoluzioni e salti mortali nel vuoto. A partire dal livello della pista dove è installata l’altalena, gli artisti spiccano il volo dapprima verso un livello intermedio, e poi verso un’ulteriore superficie sospesa a 10 metri di altezza. Unica assicurazione alla quale gli artisti coreani possono affidarsi è il giovane porteur che alterna prese decise ad impressionanti lanci verso l’alto dei suoi compagni. 
Nel secondo numero portato in pista dalla Pyongyang Troupe la giovane ed elegante artista si esibisce in una complessa performance che unisce numerose discipline del Circo: la giocoleria, il contorsionismo e l’equilibrismo aereo. La peculiarità di questa esibizione alla corda oscillante è il delicato equilibrio che l’artista deve mantenere tra la forza necessaria per compiere le evoluzioni alla corda e la delicatezza e la precisione del movimento: ella, infatti, per tutta la durata del numero, deve trattenere con la bocca una lunghissima asta alla cui sommità sono poggiati bicchierini colmi d’acqua.

The multi-cultural aspect of the Festival has never been more in evidence. All five continents will be represented in the shows, and with a host of top-quality acts and a wide variety of additional events, this year's Festival promises to be an exceptional event. The Pyongyang Troupe from North Korea presents two high-profile numbers: the first number combines the Russian swing with the fixed trapeze. The 10 performers will draw the attention of the public towards the highest point of the big top: this performance is characterized by spins and somersaults in mid-air. Starting at ring level, the artists take flight on the swing towards an intermediate level, and then carry on upwards to another level suspended at a height of 10 metres. From this height these Korean artists can only rely on the skill of their young porteur, who alternates a strong and firm grip with throwing his companions into high spins and somersaults! In the second act that the Pyongyang Troupe is presenting, the young and elegant artist will be performing a complex number that unites several circus disciplines: juggling, contortionism and aerial equilibrism. The curious aspect of this rope number is the delicate balance that the artist has to maintain between the strength required to execute the turns on the rope and the delicacy of the movements along with technical precision: during the entire number the performer will be holding a long pole in her mouth, at either end of which will be balanced two glasses full of water. da Ufficio Stampa |
